Side sealers were first introduced into Europe by Mac Due around 20 years ago, and we are still at the forefront of this market. Centre folded film is used to form a “tube” around the product which is then sealed at each end to provide a totally enclosing bag around the product. Side sealers have a huge range of applications and packaging styles.

This type of machine can be used for high quality presentation wrapping in high clarity films, bagging of products where shrinking is not required, and the bagging of long products up to 6000mm in length. The machines are incredibly versatile in what they can do. The same machine can wrap a CD or drain pipe with no problems. The use of a shrink tunnel adds a shrinking facility, meaning that high gloss films can be used to produce a product wrapped to perfection for retail display. It can also be used to hold multiple items together, or provide a good looking transit wrap for items requiring total enclosure in film.

The range

Utility – an entry level machine to suit all products

Simple and straightforward, yet very high performing, the standard type of side sealing machine comes in 3 sizes: 500mm wide, 800mm wide and a massive 1200mm wide. Each machine is excellent value for money, being built in a production line environment allowing us to keep costs to a minimum without compromising quality. Each machine can be tailored to use either polythene for heavier duty wrapping, or high clarity films for presentation-style wrapping.

Available with or without a shrink tunnel these machines offer unbeatable versatility, performance and technology for the price. The side sealers are simple in design meaning they are reliable, maintenance-free and consistently produce high quality seals.
